To parody Henry David Thoreau I would say, “the mass of men lead lives of quiet abdication.” By that I mean to say that most men are born curious individuals, eager to know the world, but are soon taught to abandon the desire for knowledge.

If we consider that in the past there were certain cultures, such as the Inca, that engaged in the ritual sacrifice of innocent children, then I believe it would be appropriate to say that there once existed entire cultures of kool-aid drinking mystical morons, the only difference being that kool-aid had yet to be invented. The Inca culture used Chicha instead, a spit-fermented drink.

Mit Romney is a prime example of what is wrong with the Republican Party today. What is wrong can be summed up as twofold: (1) Lack of consistent principles, and (2) No understanding of what the principles should be.

Hypocrisy thy name is Michael Moore. Moore is a prominent advocate for having the wealthy give up their wealth to those less fortunate, but he seems to be reluctant to follow his own advice. The muli-millionaire filmmaker, responsible for such left wing travesties as ‘Capitalism: A Love Story,’ has yet to show that he is willing to practice what he preaches.
This should not come as a surprise. Most liberals are not interested in helping the poor; they are interested in acquiring wealth and power through force. Any talk about the poor is merely window dressing intended to lure the gullible.
Every day I read and hear of people claiming how important it is to fight fascism; yet those same people, if they knew anything about philosophy, would have to realize that they are the foremost proponents of it!
In the pages of the Radical Capitalist I have often railed against statism, and other voices, far more prominent than mine, have done so as well. We, the advocates of human liberty, have observed the poor performance of various European governments and of the Obama administration; we have noted their excuses and their equivocations; we have endured the increasingly shrill and desperate voices defending their irrational policies.

While the Radical Capitalist took a vacation in November, the statists were hard at work. Anthony Mirhaydari, a prominent contributor to MSN Money, has now published his latest abomination, demanding ever-increasing government spending as the cure for the financial crisis caused by: government spending and tinkering in the economy.
To say that this is madness is to state the obvious, but the world is now in a state of unprecedented intellectual chaos thanks to the deterioration of philosophy over the last one hundred plus years.
More madness to come…..

To be a human being is to be a rational animal. To be less than human is to be less than rational. This is the key to understanding the zombie mind.

What does a budding totalitarian do when he can’t summon up a majority to deny the right to keep and bear arms? The answer is: he invents a scheme known as Fast and Furious in order to gin up outrage over the proliferation of firearms. Of course it doesn’t work and Eric Holder, the chief “Keystone Cop” in this comedy of incompetence, winds up with egg on his face.
It took me many years to become an Objectivist. First, I did not know that such a philosophy existed, but then over time I slowly began integrating it into my thinking. I now expect to die as Objectivist. I believe that Objectivism is one of the few truly bright spots that graces mankind’s otherwise sorry philosophic history.
